Mr. Philip Boerebach, Pharm. D., M.D. (Dutch, German, English, French)
Philip Boerebach completed his pharmaceutical studies in Groningen in 1992 and his medical studies in Leiden in 2009. He is a registered travel - and vaccination doctor, focusing his research on the use of prescription and over-the-counter medication with children, international vaccination schemes and travel advice. In 2011 he started his training as a nutritional (orthomolecular) doctor.
On his involvement with the IHCH:
"Many of my expatriate friends often complained about the Dutch healthcare system and the attitude of healthcare providers. They asked me if it would be possible to organise things in a less paternalistic manner. With my contribution to the IHCH I hope to fulfill their wishes."
Next to his pharmaceutical studies, Philip Boerebach is also trained as a physician, with emphasis on orthomolecular medicine and travel advice: " Being both a chemist and a medical doctor gives me a better insight into conventional as well as alternative medication. It will enable me to offer my patients better choices when it comes to the treatment plans."
For years Mr Boerebach was the president of the chemists' association in Rotterdam. He has also acted as a supervising chemist at TNO and a pharmaceutical wholesaler and was co-founder of a pharmacy that mechanically packaged medication according to the time of administration.
Together with Tony Brouwer he is the cofounder of the IHCH.
