Alexander Technique

The Alexander Technique is a skill for self-development. It is used to improve well being and to achieve more effective performance in a wide range of situations, helping you find an easy balance in all that you do.

In one-to-one sessions, an Alexander teacher uses a combination of gentle manual and verbal guidance to help you achieve poise and efficient movement. This allows you to perceive and change habits which impede your natural efficiency.

As you become more adept in the Technique, you will experience an improved posture, as well as prevent and alleviate many ailments, such as backache, neck/shoulder ache, headache and RSI. You will also develop a more positive response to stress.

The Technique is taught by Wendelien Verbeek, a teacher who has successfully completed the three year fulltime training course and is a member of the professional societies in the UK (STAT) and the Netherlands (NeVLAT). She adheres to the Societies' Code of Professional Conduct.
