Billing and insurance for specialists

Specialists services are generally covered by insurances, but not always 100%. Check with your insurance to find out the details about the coverage.

For our specialists services (including referrals and second opinions), the normal billing procedure is that you receive a bill (factuur) from our clinic. Then, you submit this bill to your insurance company for reimbursement. If you submit this bill to your insurance in a timely manner, you will generally receive reimbursement from them before your payment to us is due.

Pricing for consultations

The prices of our specialist services are regulated by the Ministry of Health, and may be different compared to prices for services in your own country. The bills you receive with us comply with the Dutch billing system and should be accepted by your insurance provider.

Prices are set according to a pricing code called the DBC (diagnosis-treatment combination). Each diagnosis has its own DBC and fixed price, which is an average of all the respective visits and treatments associated with the diagnosis. So depending on the actual situation, the bill may seem relatively expensive or inexpensive to you. To give you an indication of our pricing: most bills from our specialists vary between €120-350.
